One of the reasons for the low ratio of female is considered to be the existence of unconscious bias in the personnel selection process. In response to this, the Office for Gender Equality made the “Unconscious Bias Check Sheet for Candidate Evaluations” to be used from FY 2023 to check one’s own biases, especially targeting those in charge of personnel selection in each department. We have also distributed the leaflet “Understanding Unconscious Bias” made by EPMEWSE (RENRAKUKAI)* as a combined teaching material. Please make the most use of them.
